BSO Brass visit RNAS Culdrose

After a busy day of workshops, the BSO brass quintet attended a rehearsal with HMS Seahawk Royal Naval Volunteer Band.

Based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall, the band consisting of serving and civilian personnel, operate as a military windband and parade band.
The brass quintet was on hand to provide support in preparation for the culmination event to the BSO’s residency week, where they will stage a community music workshop and concert, at RNAS Culdrose.

After some general ensemble playing, the band split into workshops seeing the woodwind section disappearing and the brass section being put through their paces by the team from the BSO!
After some much deserved tea and cake, the band and BSO members came together once more to perform.

An enjoyable evening was had by all and the band from RNAS Culdrose are very much looking forward to playing alongside the BSO on Saturday.
